Here is the start of the lid chucked in our lathe.

Here is the bottom of the lid showing the alignment groove that centers the lid on the element.

As you can see here the hole in the base and lid are offset.

This had to be done so the air cleaner would clear the throttle linkage.

After machining the air filter housing I had it powder coated black. Here is the finished air cleaner installed on the engine. Looks right at home!!

I then machined the Briggs & Stratton logo in the top and dabbed a little red and charcoal paint in the triangles.

 

Here is the larger brake caliper and bracket mounted and ready to go.

Here is the finished chassis after grinding and cleaning up the welds. Next step: sandblasting and paint
